Reba & Blake Shelton Add Second Show to Aid Tornado Victims

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton'sTornado Relief Concert scheduled for May 26 in Durant, Okla. sold out in less than two hours last week. As a result, the pair have added an additional show for May 25. All proceeds from the concerts will aid tornado relief efforts in that state.

"A lot of people lost a great deal in this disaster and it's particularly close to us because we both consider Oklahoma home," Reba says. "We wanted to do something and let the people in Oklahoma know that we love them and we're praying for them during this difficult tragedy."

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Go 'Fishin'' for Gold

'Fishin' in the Dark' was a great catch for theNitty Gritty Dirt Band two decades ago, when the single topped the country charts for multiple weeks in 1987. The song continues to sail along as a classic Dirt Band performance, and has given the band its first gold digital download, certified for sales of 500,000 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). It was released digitally in 2009.

"I think that 'Fishin' in the Dark' became our first gold download because a lot of people identify with the song regarding a good time in their life," Dirt Band member John McEuen tells The Boot. "They can identify with the song; it's about them. I think it relates to people's own lives, rather than 'Mr. Bojangles,' which is a good story song, or 'Long Hard Road,' which is about the singer's life. People who hear the song can go 'Fishin' in the Dark;' they can put themselves in the song."

Blake Shelton Was Shocked by Contestants on 'The Voice'

Blake Shelton returns to 'The Voice' tonight (May 10) with his hand-picked team, who prepare to battle it out. The contestants are going to get some help, though, when the 'Honey Bee' singer reveals his secret weapon: Reba McEntire. In tonight's "battle rounds," participants from the same team will go head-to-head, singing the same song, and their coach will vote one of them off.

Since the Oklahoma native wasn't able to see any of the entrants before he chose them, was he surprised by any of their appearances? "There's definitely times I hit my button and turned around, and it was all I could do not to go, 'Oh, my God! What the H---?'" Blake tells The Boot. "Sometimes the voice doesn't match the face, and it's alarming sometimes. It's crazy."

He may have been shocked, but that doesn't mean it was a negative reaction. "It's interesting because I watched the first episode, and I never thought of it from this angle," he continues. "There was this girl on there that was drop-dead beautiful, and she got picked based on her talent and not her looks, and she was as emotional as anybody for being picked. I think she felt that for the first time somebody paid attention to what she wanted them to pay attention to. It was interesting to see what that meant to her."

Blake Shelton's Next Album to 'Bee' Sooner Than Expected

With the success of his latest single, 'Honey Bee,'Blake Shelton is set to release his ninth album on July 12, a few months before he had planned. The reigning CMA Male Vocalist debuted 'Honey Bee' on the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this month, and just one week after its release, the song had more than 138,000 in digital sales. Naturally, Blake felt it wouldn't be wise to wait until the fall for fans to get the album.

"Playing your cards too close to your chest doesn't pay out," Blake tells the Associated Press. "I feel like right now if I've got a single that's exploding, easily my fastest climber, I don't want to do something like wait and put [the album] out in the fall. It's when you rally the troops and say, 'Man, we've got to get this thing done.'"

Joe Nichols Heads Back Down Under

"I can't wait to get back to Australia!" exclaimsJoe Nichols, who will head Down Under next week for his third tour of the country. The Australian leg of the singer's Shape I'm In tour comes just a month after Joe headlined the CMC Rocks the Hunter festival in New South Wales' Hunter Valley.

"My previous visits to Australia created fantastic memories, so I'm definitely looking forward to another visit," he explains. "It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I think every person in the entire country is nice. Seriously, I haven't seen or heard of a mean person yet. And they love country music. Gonna be a great time."

Australian fans are just as eager to welcome the 'Brokenheartsville' singer back as he is to return. "Joe has been a big hit here in Australia," tour promoter Rob Potts says. "The country music fans can't seem to get enough of him. I know he sold out of product at each of his previous shows. He has been diligent and consistent about coming back to Australia to develop his fan base here, and that's paying off for him."

Blake Shelton & Fellow 'Voice' Coaches Go 'Crazy'

Blake Shelton is looking for the next big voice in music, as the country superstar joins Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as coaches on the new reality competition show, 'The Voice.'

Each 'Voice' coach will pick singers to mentor during blind auditions, during which they'll only hear the competitors and not see them. The coach then forms his/her own team to compete for the rest of the show, with viewers casting votes on the final winner.

The whole premise of the show is that it should be the voice that makes the singing superstar, and not his or her looks. The coaches just happen to be blessed with both. Check them out singing together Cee-Lo's mega-hit, 'Crazy' (which he famously recorded in his duo, Gnarls Barkley), below.
