Nashville's Ryman Auditorium may be among the oldest venues for country music, but the theme there on Monday night (Feb. 20) was nothing but new. The Band Perry broke in the Mother Church of Country Music's recently replaced stage with a slew of their latest tunes during the sold-out Music City stop of their Purveyors of Performance tour.

The sibling trio kicked off the show, which lead singer Kimberly Perry called a "musical narrative," with two new songs, 'End of Times' and 'Sweet Baby Love,' before playing their first radio single, 'Hip to My Heart.'

Toby Keith Reveals His Acting Career Is Done

In 2006, Toby Keith added 'actor' to his resume, starring opposite Kelly Preston and Burt Reynolds in the film, 'Broken Bridges.' In 2008, he went even further when he produced, co-wrote (with co-star Rodney Carrington) and starred in 'Beer for My Horses,' which took its name from his No. 1 single with another co-star,Willie Nelson. Despite the success of those projects, the singer-songwriter now says his movie career is over.

"When I did the movies, it affected my [song]writing," he tells the Country Vibe. "I had quality songs and we had hits and stuff, but it affected my day-to-day, my system, my routine and the volume of songs that I bring to the table when I record an album."

Today marks the release of JT Hodges new single, 'Goodbyes Made You Mine,' but in the spirit of Valentine's Day, the Texas-born singer is offering fans a second romantic song, free of charge. It's a solo acoustic video performance ofGarth Brooks' 'The Dance,' and in the black-and-white clip (after the jump), the up-and-coming country singer turns in a sincere, understated performance.

One of Garth's best-known tunes, 'The Dance' can best be summed up with a cliched phrase: It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. In the song, the narrator looks back on a relationship that ended badly but left behind a lasting memory of one perfect moment: "the dance we shared beneath the stars above."

It's a big week for the Band Perry. Grammy nominees in the all-genre Best New Artist category, the sibling trio are going into Sunday's awards show with the No. 1 song on country radio. 'All Your Life,' the fourth single from the band's platinum-selling debut album, sits on top of the Billboard country radio chart.

The Band Perry will perform the ballad on Wednesday's (Feb. 8) episode of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.' (Check local listings here.) Then they'll head to the stage of L.A.'s Staples Center, where they'll accompany Blake Shelton and Glen Campbell in a tribute to the legendary 'Rhinestone Cowboy.'

"This feels like a pinnacle moment for us -- to perform with an icon on the Grammy Awards is an honor," Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry write in a statement. "As we prepare for this weekend's show, it's a humbling vote of confidence that our song has also found its way to the top of the charts. Wow and thank you."

The Band Perry Perk Up to Prank Paisley

Brad Paisley is known for pulling pranks on his opening acts, but with the Band Perry out on the road with him for the Virtual Reality world tour, he may finally have met his match. The trio decided they wouldn't wait for the 'Camouflage' singer to strike.

The siblings were "the first to throw the punch," Reid Perry admits to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, explaining that they recently threw a curve-ball in their nightly ritual of joining the country superstar on stage for his solemn hit, 'Whiskey Lullaby.' Brad couldn't help but laugh, subsequently flubbing the song, when he noticed the Perry clan take the stage wearing Spock-like alien ears.

"Just a little subtle thing to kick off the tour," Reid laughs. "We were wondering, do you pre-emptively prank Paisley or do you wait for him to start it?"
